In 2018, Embark Georgia held the 2nd Annual Embark Georgia Leadership Conference. The goals of the conference included networking, sharing information, and supporting Embark leaders in increasing college access and success for Georgia’s homeless youth. The conference featured 16 interactive workshops that offered information and insights into partnerships, programs and processes that exist to support students. In addition, presentations from programming options for Gear Up Georgia and CarePortal. During the conference, participants experienced a simulation focusing on the importance of building networks of support for young people on campus. Clare Cady was the featured keynote speaker. She has developed programs to address basic needs insecurities among college students as the co-founder of the College and University Food Bank Alliance, an organization focused on alleviating student hunger.
