It's FAFSA time! The start of the year is when youth who wish to attend college should be filling out applications for financial aid.  Yet homeless youth often face barriers navigating postsecondary educations systems, and finding basic needs to support themselves. This session will provide homeless education professionals, higher education professionals, and community-based service organizations with tools to assist homeless youth to apply for Federal Student Aid. Presenters from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Postsecondary Education, and the Office of Federal Student Aid, will discuss financial aid policies and practices for homeless youth. Presenters will share best practices on how homeless education professionals, human service professionals, and financial aid administrators can collaborate to better support this population of students.
