National Postsecondary Support Map

07/02/2015

For the first time, there now is a single source of information in the state and national 'movement' to spread higher education policy and support models targeting students coming from foster care. Many thanks to Maddy Day and her team for undertaking this complex project! You will find information on the 22 states with tuition waiver policy's in place and the ten states with formalized higher education/child welfare/community based organization collaborations (WA, CA, MI, OH, OK, TX, FL, GA, NC & VA).  With our ongoing support, Western Michigan University Center for Fostering Success will add community and technical colleges to the map - and hopefully other support programs for students from foster care.

If you know of a Four-Year College Campus-Based Support Program, Statewide Support Organization, or State Tuition Waiver that is not on the map, please email us at fostering-info@wmich.edu.  All colleges with an active support model/program/approach should be listed on this new resource.
